America’s Slide into Domestic Terrorism
When speaking of terrorism in America, most American’s think of Al-Qaeda and Muslim fundamentalist attacking American urban targets and airlines. Some may also think of domestic radical fringe groups from the left or right. Their attacks, although large and devastating, have had surprisingly little effect in undermining and weakening the Federal government, or causing any degree of instability. These attacks just don’t constitute the threat that a concerted domestic insurrection could.
So, who will be the real terrorist threat to America in the future? The profile of a concerted terrorist or insurrectionist is young (under 30) and having a sense of nothing to lose. The question is what could cause American youth to have a sense of nothing to lose? There are three basic forces now at work within America, which can come together and interact to leave young people with just such a sense of nothing to lose.
This monogram covers these three basic forces; 1) the high cost for keeping each individual in a high technology society; 2) the alienation of people who fail to advance technologically and 3) the displacement of people (their jobs) by technology. To better understand the interaction of these forces toward war, the reader is introduced to the basic theory of war. Finally, the environment in which these three forces are coming together is explored with respect to domestic terrorism and insurrection movements.
This volume explains to American law enforcement the particulars of why we face a serious threat of domestic terrorism, consequently serving as a foundation for the other monograms in this series dealing with insurrection and revolution. More importantly, the reader will gain an understanding, which allows them to understand the mechanics and dynamics of domestic insurrection and terrorism.
